You could also wait for UCLA and USC.

This is such a 0L mentality. Loyola has a better local network and reputation than Pepperdine no matter what the rankings say.philawsopher wrote:Pepperdine (#52) is ranked higher than Loyola (#75) by USN. Interestingly, though, Loyola hit a higher pass rate for the July '15 exam than Pepperdine. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?middleawkward123 wrote:It's interesting to see Pepperdine getting so many votes. Unfortunately, I want to commute from home (closer to OC although it's in LA county). I thought Loyola > Pepperdine as to their ranking and etc.? No?

I was referring to the bimodal distribution of ALL lawyer salaries that you claimed had no merit.General_Tso wrote:OP only wants to work in CA and said he would be happy making 70-80k. I had seen a similar chart before I went to law school and I still went. I think partially because I was barely making mid 20k per year so I may have thought that 40k was an improvement. But to be honest I was dead set on being an attorney so all the articles about law school being a bad investment did not deter me.twenty 8 wrote:The Bimodal Salary Curve was eye opening. I get the 160 chart-topper but I honestly though the 100- 125 range would be huge, and low for the under 50-60 figure (to me that was very surprising).

How did you get chapman without stip? did you negotiate that? because I was under the impression that all of their schollys had a 2.9 stipmiddleawkward123 wrote:I just realized Hastings's offer is confidential. This is the best offer that I've got against UCI. What to do?
Edit: Also, Chapman is Full tuition without stip. (just good academic standing) Idk if this will make a difference in people's opinions.
Interesting, you are the first of 5 or 6 people I have talked to that has received a full tuition + no stip. Also, in your OP it says 2.9 stip. Are you sure there is no stip?middleawkward123 wrote:^No, that was their initial offer.

Okay i just wanted to make sure because like I said you are the first I have seen. Chapman is notorious for those high stip scholarships and yanking them after 1L. I will most likely be withdrawing my 80% scholarship soon here if I cant negotiate the stipulation.middleawkward123 wrote:^Idk where I got that 2.9 stip. I just checked my letter and it doesn't say that...
I am going to their Scholar's Weekend. I figure it couldn't hurt. And then i will be negotiating that stip.middleawkward123 wrote:^ Good luck! Are you going to Chapman's ASW?

Yes. Hasting's offer is the most appealing but the amount that I will spend for living expenses will probably equal to what I would be paying for UCI. Plus I want to stay in Socal, close to my family, and work in Socal.Legal_Octopus wrote:I'd probably go Hastings.
