How is that not appropriate?

when it comes to the "ASW Gunner Hall of Fame," let's not forget the 0L "Class OBSERVATION volunteer" at Cornell...

at the Cornell ASW the whole group was invited to observe a class, and the Professor asked for a volunteer (as in, actual student) to answer questions. After a couple seconds of silence, a visitor raised his hand, but the Professor kept waiting. 10 more seconds and the Professor asks "no volunteers?", and then the kid shouts from the back "Professor, we have a volunteer!", shuffles in his chair all excited, and gets the question wrong...

So much second-hand embarrassment. Good Christ.

I feel bad because I literally had no weird questions at my ASW this past week (that I can remember, heh).

Admissions should seriously consider rescinding that offer.

It'd still be obnoxious, but slightly less so.

At NU earlier this year we had a prospective applicant sit in on a class and did the same thing. He wasn't even admitted...

Not at my ASW, but I knew someone in college who went to an AWS, answered a question in a class that he was observing, apparently got it right (or at least in his mind he did) and I know of this because he bragged about it through a Facebook status. If I remember correctly it was GW's AWS.

How did it feel to go to college with a future president? (Brianiac)

Attended the Emory ASW last weekend and had a few good stories:

"I am still deciding between FSU, Emory, Vanderbilt and Yale.. I haven't heard back from Vanderbilt or Yale yet even though I applied in October. I think that's a good sign!"

I also heard way too many people say that they were interested in practicing Constitutional Law

Not necessarily overheard, but I saw one girl carrying a 1L Prep Book and another carrying a book entitled "How to Get Into Harvard Law School" .....

To be fair, the professor actually asked for a visitor to talk about the case and the poor 0L wasn't exactly "wrong." The hilarious part for me was when another 0L tried answering a question and repeated what a student had already said moments prior.

Also, I swear to god I am neither of these 0L's

I recall the professor saying something along the lines of "since we have visitors in our class, let's demonstrate the Cornell excellence"

Oh shit. All I could hear was "since we have visitors in our class..." and assumed she was looking for a visitor. Ya that's much worse.
