Damn LSAT medians dropping like flies. I'm thinking Texas had to have dropped to 166.

The thing is CWR is not even the worst law school in Ohio. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Ohio Northern, Dayton etc.Desert Fox wrote:Do they have a large faculty or do they rely on adjuncts in large part?ImNoScar wrote:What do you think comes next? Re: C/O 2016 Class Profiles
I doubt CWR couldn't find 200 students, they just could find 200 students and not have their medians drop like a rock. Actual TTT's will probably just let their medians drop like a rock.ImNoScar wrote:The thing is CWR is not even the worst law school in Ohio. I believe Cornell is another.jingosaur wrote:Duke says that it's one of 7 schools to have an increase in apps. I'm sure most of the other schools are state flagships, but who knows.shaynislegend wrote:So far it looks like Duke has been the only school to see an increase in apps?
And according to Mike Spivey, it was 12 schools in the end.
They probably could have maintained the LSAT median if they were willing to sacrifice the GPA median. Maybe they shot for the same medians and ran out of 170+ applicants at the end.hohenheim wrote:
They dropped class size too, lower than the previous 9 years (last year was lower than the previous 8 )

Because the fact other people are fleeing law makes it easier for them to get into schools they couldn't get in a couple of years ago? I don't understand either.Desert Fox wrote:I don't understand why everyone is so giddy.

You don't see why this is good news to a law school applicant?NYstate wrote:Because the fact other people are fleeing law makes it easier for them to get into schools they couldn't get in a couple of years ago? I don't understand either.Desert Fox wrote:I don't understand why everyone is so giddy.

Re: C/O 2016 Class Profiles
I can see why people think it is good news, but only if they ignore the underlying reasons why apps have dropped precipitously the past two years. It has to do with LST and the ABA finally publicizing somewhat honest employment and salary data. And that law school is way too expensive. And that biglaw isn't back to hiring anywhere near pre-crash levels and it doesn't look like it will be. And that government hiring and PI hiring largely don't exist or don't pay a decent level even if you are on IBR. Also the uncovering of the school paid fellowship scam may play a role.DrStudMuffin wrote:You don't see why this is good news to a law school applicant?NYstate wrote:Because the fact other people are fleeing law makes it easier for them to get into schools they couldn't get in a couple of years ago? I'm excited because I'm hoping some TTTs will close and stop preying on the misinformed.Desert Fox wrote:I don't understand why everyone is so giddy.

I read somewhere, maybe ATL, that Cooley is making up for dropping class size by raising tuition.ImNoScar wrote:I'm excited because I'm hoping some TTTs will close and stop preying on the misinformed.Desert Fox wrote:I don't understand why everyone is so giddy.

Meh. I got in with a very significant scholarship to a school I likely would have been rejected from a few cycles ago. This is excellent news for new applicants who understand what they're getting into.

Yes they are. By 8 percent or something crazy. They also are considering lowering their standards, which is pretty hilarious when their current median is a 145.NYstate wrote:I read somewhere, maybe ATL, that Cooley is making up for dropping class size by raising tuition.ImNoScar wrote:I'm excited because I'm hoping some TTTs will close and stop preying on the misinformed.Desert Fox wrote:I don't understand why everyone is so giddy.

When the masses figure out about PAYE, we're all completely effed.
Fortunately, most people tend to skip past news articles that use math and stuff.

Relax dude. Given that I, along with many others, are still applying regardless of all of the things NYstate mentioned (which are obviously important), it is actually good news for us.
I still wouldn't say I'm "giddy" about it, though.

Bye bye, NU's 170. Unless someone REALLY screwed up at UVA.

Will lower medians affect employment?

Well they don't have the same 40% in state requirement. That must be a huge challenge for UVA.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:Bye bye, NU's 170. Unless someone REALLY screwed up at UVA.

UVA "cut" its class size too. Down 22 (6%) and it didn't stop the dropDesert Fox wrote:NU cut class size, might be the reason they did.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:Bye bye, NU's 170. Unless someone REALLY screwed up at UVA.
