GW to 10th? Emory to 16th? G'Town to ...second tier?

schools around the T50-T70 bracket who bump their lsat averages up and drop their GPA scholarship stipulations should just auto raise in the rankings. Seems more meaningful than what the judge opinion 1/5 questionnaire can give prospective students.

Re: 2014 Rankings Waiting Thread
I've seen scattered reports around that several schools (between 7 and 12) have seen increased apps this year. Anyone know if there's a list somewhere? My google-fu isn't working for me. I'd be interested to see if there is any correlation to employment data, cost, etc.

There are a lot of posts on this thread considering nobody cares about USNWR.

Re: 2014 Rankings Waiting Thread
A few articles I've read online have talked about schools seeing application increases:Regulus wrote:I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to, but if so, it simply states that applications haven't dropped as much as they have been in recent years, and not necessarily that they have increased (or even leveled out).cahwc12 wrote:I've seen scattered reports around that several schools (between 7 and 12) have seen increased apps this year. http://www.heraldsun.com/news/x17331928 ... tion-trendOnly seven schools are showing any increase in applications.
Duke University Law School is one of them.
“The majority of schools have experienced declines well over 10 percent,” Dean David Levi recently wrote to the law school community. But “our applications are up over this time last year. Let us hope this augurs well for the remainder of the admissions season.”
With that season coming to a close with the application deadline Friday, applications to Duke are generally running “up 1-2 percent over last year,” said William Hoye, the law school’s associate dean for admissions. “We generally receive a surge of applications in the two weeks prior to the deadline, so I expect that our 2013 volume will be up slightly over last year or just about even.”
I found another article but on second reading it was referring to the previous cycle. I'm just curious if there's a list of schools with application increases this cycle.

Re: 2014 Rankings Waiting Thread
all 6 are probably ranked higher. I suspect Berkeley is one of them, on their twitter page they brag about how they were swamped with applications. Yale probably is one of them and so on. Michigan and Virginia probably were not because of the weaker job employments..cahwc12 wrote:A few articles I've read online have talked about schools seeing application increases:Regulus wrote:I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to, but if so, it simply states that applications haven't dropped as much as they have been in recent years, and not necessarily that they have increased (or even leveled out).cahwc12 wrote:I've seen scattered reports around that several schools (between 7 and 12) have seen increased apps this year. That's awesome...can you calculate those for the entire T30?Regulus wrote:If all other variables in the USNWR methodology other than the 14% for employment after 9 months were to stay the same (which they won't), and if we plug in the 2011 ABA employment data (which will also change based on the 2012 data), the following is what we would be looking at in terms of law school rankings for next year. (Click here for a summary of the calculations.)
*We still don't know how USNWR is going to treat school-paid jobs, so I made one chart for each possible outcome (inclusion versus exclusion).

This was more fun last year when everyone just guessed at what the rankings would be. I miss being an 0L and caring about the rankings. It just doesnt matter once you get there.

Gonna need to ask him to do T50 for ASU to show up this yeargaud wrote:Also interested...JCougar wrote:That's awesome...can you calculate those for the entire T30?

Regulus did you give the same weight to outcomes as USNWR has used in the past? I thought I read somewhere that the weight is gonna be much more significant this year too but I could be making that up.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
