I still think that you have to be defective to end up unemployed out of HLS. And by defective I include unwilling to work outside of NYC, unwilling to look for jobs outside of OCI, and unwilling to work for $145k instead of $160k.

Having a ton of low passes on your transcript isn't promising. (Although I think they got rid of it this past year.) I think a Harvard JD with bad grades (i.e. straight passes or low passes) can get "a job," just maybe not a legal job, especially now.

LPs aren't mandatory, but they still exist. I doubt that in the future they will occur frequently enough to give a student more than one or two.

Makes perfect sense. Why pay a HLS bottom 1/3 grad 145-160k when you can most likely hire a regional top 25 grad top 1/3 of class for 100k? (sorry for shorthand) It's a bad time for everyone. I can only imagine the number of senior associates severanced out for 20-somethings earning half their pay.
