I too have pretty much made up my mind, but in the same vein as another thread on here I am in a long-term relationship. We have dated for 5 years and a ring is coming at the end of the month. She has two years left in pharmacy school. Would like to work in Atlanta ideally as in house counsel for a hospital. Tuition is unfortunately the same at both. Emory 2/3 scholarship and Texas 2/3 scholarship.

wouldn't mind working in so cal market, but there is something alluring about at least interviewing for NY firms, which i assume i will not get at ucla.

decide which market you'd like to pursue. if completely set on cali, ucla. if new york, cornell. if you're torn, still cornell because it seems that cornell has more cali reach than ucla has ny presence, thus leaving you with better options.

I don't want to practice in NYC because I'm married and want to start a family, but I'd love to live in New York while attending law school. I'm starting to lean toward NYU at this point. Am I crazy if I turn down $72,000 from Michigan?

Maybe I'll get lucky and Columbia will solve my problem by sending me an acceptance letter.

Honestly, if it were not for possible personal reasons, I would take my $54k at Michigan over full sticker at NYU, and I want to practice in NYC after graduation.

I don't know how poor he's planning on being the decade after graduation, but clerking -> non-profit could equal very little debt. If it was biglaw, yeah, Columbia in a heartbeat.
