Well, that talent is not the only thing that could be expanding, if you know what i mean.TemporarySaint wrote:The only conclusion of expanding that talent is broken penis.TheThriller wrote:with a talent like that I bet he's pretty good at other 1-handed activities

Re: Class sizes and medians (c/o 2015)
This is an interesting thread. I suspect top schools remain about where they were in terms of LSAT and GPA, but the further you go down in the rankings, the more of a slide you will see, simply because of the drop in applications.
For the OP:
Michigan State College of Law LSat and GPA has remained the same at 157 and 3.54.
The upper quartile GPA dropped from 3.74 to 3.72, and the lower quartile raised from 3.22 to 3.24.
Certainly not the rise I was expecting based on the applications the school was getting, but at least there was no drop. It will be most interesting to see how other similarly ranked school do in comparison to MSU.

Also, this thread is good in tracking the drop in admissions, but it doesn't tell a complete picture. Are the drops mostly because of lack of applications, or for other reasons. I guess you need to know how many apps were sent to a school and how many acceptances there were to see the admission rates and how they have changed. That is the magic number for rankings.

Looking more and more like MSU will be the number two school in the state of Michigan. Long, long, long way to go to get anywhere close to UM though.jne381 wrote:This is an interesting thread. I don't think they will ever want to get to the level of UM, but I do think they want to probably get to the level of the rest of the big Ten Schools, probably in the mid-30's or so, but that will still take a while.ajax wrote:Looking more and more like MSU will be the number two school in the state of Michigan. It will also take a while for higher rankings to translate into higher employment numbers, but it will come along. It is just a matter of time, and it is inevitable with the backing of a huge and nationally known university like Michigan State.
As for now, I would just like to see how there numbers are comparing to other schools ranked 60-90 to see if they will make another jump in rankings again, but it is probably hard to get all those numbers.

Nothing is inevitable in a struggling legal market.jne381 wrote:I don't think they will ever want to get to the level of UM, but I do think they want to probably get to the level of the rest of the big Ten Schools, probably in the mid-30's or so, but that will still take a while.ajax wrote:Looking more and more like MSU will be the number two school in the state of Michigan. Re: Class sizes and medians (c/o 2015)
You just sort of said all this. Why is this true? There is a huge difference between attracting 157, 3.5 candidates and 165ish, 3.7 candidates. MSU is nowhere close to the second group of candidate. Yeah maybe with 30 years of determined effort, but until then it's all ridiculously speculation, with all due respect.jne381 wrote:I don't think they will ever want to get to the level of UM, but I do think they want to probably get to the level of the rest of the big Ten Schools, probably in the mid-30's or so, but that will still take a while.ajax wrote:Looking more and more like MSU will be the number two school in the state of Michigan. Re: Class sizes and medians (c/o 2015)
You don't need any of that information, really. People are still getting dinged from schools so it's not for lack of apps in general. You're gonna find which schools are prioritizing medians, tuition, etc. Admission rate really shouldn't have an impact on rankings because you just get schools to send out fee waivers, ding below median candidates, and claim high selectivity.jne381 wrote:Also, this thread is good in tracking the drop in admissions, but it doesn't tell a complete picture. This is why Dickinson Law is such a national powerhouse.jne381 wrote:I don't think they will ever want to get to the level of UM, but I do think they want to probably get to the level of the rest of the big Ten Schools, probably in the mid-30's or so, but that will still take a while.ajax wrote:Looking more and more like MSU will be the number two school in the state of Michigan. They are in essentially the same boat as MSU. It will take time. I don't think it will take 30 years, but I sincerely think you will see my expectations met in 10-15 years.Bildungsroman wrote: This is why Dickinson Law is such a national powerhouse.

That LSAT split is exactly Columbia's last year. I wish Harvard would publish their medians... could it be possible that the LSAT dropped to 172?banjo wrote:ETA:Kionaltski wrote:Hey, I think Harvard's new numbers are out here http://www.law.harvard.edu/prospective/ ... ofile.html I think what we're seeing is good news for us applicants

LST shows 224 enrolled for Rutgers-Newark last year, but I think they separate part-timers.
