I'm enjoying it a bit also. But to digress, looks like not a single person chose school A.scottidsntknow wrote:Seriously this is really entertaining to me. I searched through like 100+ posts of yours to no avail ugh.Nucky wrote:May change topic to CSI: Nucky's Dilemma
I thought there would at least be a few, "stick to the region you have ties in," advocates. Apparently the choice is much more clear cut to you guys than it is for me. Guess I should go school B, after all.

School A is tough because, IIRC, you're from a region that doesn't really have any law schools close byNucky wrote:I'm enjoying it a bit also. Might be confusing you with someone else though.

Not me. School A is strong in region though. I personally think it should be ranked quite a bit higher. Maybe T35 or so.BigZuck wrote:School A is tough because, IIRC, you're from a region that doesn't really have any law schools close byNucky wrote:I'm enjoying it a bit also. How common is it to get 11th hour full rides to schools like ND?
Also Nucky mother of Christ did you just create another tier? Dude go read USNEWS methodology. Posts that have "T35" in them seriously beg the question whether posters are going to law school with their heads on strait.

I hear you. Haha. I'm not trying to create another tier. Just saying I feel the school should be ranked higher and considered with higher company than the schools around it, in my opinion. I know what you're saying though, and I agree.Lord Randolph McDuff wrote:How common is it to get 11th hour full rides to schools like ND?

Best is when posters are in the transfer threads and are all, T44 transfer to T20 peazz post advice. It's like dude we know you go to the 44th ranked school.. That's not something that's unclear.jk148706 wrote:T35 or gtfo broLord Randolph McDuff wrote:How common is it to get 11th hour full rides to schools like ND?

I know an attorney that went to UMinn and now practices in Oklahoma. She is a solo who does family law, not sure she even has an office. Her website focuses on her "top 20 law school."
All the local attorneys think she's fucking retarded.

Re: School A versus School B
If I had a gun to my head and had to choose, I'd go with the full ride. Anything short of a full ride is too much for the other school.
Still, I'm 100% certain that you're overstating the national power of the T25, Nucky. There isn't a single non-T14 I'd go to for ANY COST unless I had some ties to their primary geographic pipeline. I wouldn't go to WUSTL unless I had connections to MO or IL, and I wouldn't go to ND unless I had ties to IL or IN. I know these schools place some folks elsewhere, but it's a minority, and I wouldn't bet my career on a longshot.

it is Indiana. Bloomington is definite college town, they are generous with $$$ and last year were top 25 i believe (this year just out)

Indiana and Florida are peer schools. A shame if Nucky spends this amount of time on TLS, only to choose out of state Indiana because it's "T25" over UF with desire to work in Sunshine state.Ngoblue2014 wrote:it is Indiana. Nucky god damn't it's a fucking magazine. Attorneys in Florida won't know if Indiana is ranked 75 or 25. The only thing that matters is reputation and contacts in your target market.
The full ride is nice, but no one actually wants to live Indiana. Do not have a bad time here, man.
(If school is not Indiana please ignore)

I completely agree. I had 40k/yr at IU really after visiting couldn't consider it. Great $$$ offer but literally in the middle of nowhere and little mobility of degree.
