No problem, brother! Next year when you're swimming in $$$ from T14 I trust you'll give the same advice to others in similar situations.Flokkness wrote:Thanks guys. I'll hit the LSAT full speed this time around.
This was practically an intervention!
I appreciate that.

You are so awesome that I'm beginning to doubt you are real. It's pretty rare that someone is this receptive to the idea of waiting a year and retaking.Flokkness wrote:My thought as well.t-14orbust wrote:No problem, brother! Thanks again.
Just marched into my boss' office with an undated letter of resignation and was like, I'm done doing X Y and Z or you can date this today. Needless to say I am no longer doing X Y and Z which means less OT and way less stress. Gotta focus on that LSAT.

Sweet Jesus, you're a URM with a 3.93. With a mid 160's LSAT you could be looking at H/S.
Don't sell yourself short. Retake in October. Study your ass off until then.

Dude, such a good call. If you can bump your score up into the mid 160's you'll start getting near full-ride offers at T14's. High 160's and you've got a serious shot at Harvard. 170 and the T6 will be fighting over who gets to give you a full ride.

This is awesome. It would make me really happy to see you succeed.Flokkness wrote:Just a quick update. Went ahead and took a leave of absence to focus on LSAT prep. After additional reflection and research it became even more obvious that doing anything less than my full dedicated best would be a mistake I'd regret forever. Got the bibles coming, working on study plan, will get a tutor through extra round of Blackstone prep class, and then it's off to the races in October/December.
Thanks again for the advice...good stuff indeed.

Congratulations on taking that step. Many on this board are hesitant to retake after already sitting out a year (myself included) especially if they are satisfied with current options. If what you aspire to be can't be met by attending a solid regional, good for you! You had solid options here but none of those degrees would travel and you would be limited to a few markets. Personally, I would have gone with Temple or Pitt
