None. Clerical-secretarial work. I'm looking at other job options like the Foreign Service. I still need to do job hunting. This job was just a way to fill the gap years.JohannDeMann wrote:what are you doing now? job? what are the growth prospects from your current position? salary?

FYI, the Foreign Service is definitely a black box. They get tons of applications from eminently qualified people for a few slots, and the criteria for getting picked are pretty ill-defined. I've seen multiple people who spoke target foreign languages and had graduate degrees from good IR programs get passed over for no apparent reason. I'm not trying to be discouraging, just saying I wouldn't put all your eggs in that basket.

Ah, thank you. I thought it would be primarily based on the entrance exam. Hustle time!

Entrance exam just gets you in to the huge pool of super qualified people who are competing for a small number of slots. I know people who have been on the waiting list for a long time.
Ever think about the military for a few years? Great resume line and the Post 9/11 GI Bill changes the law school calculus completely.

I did flirt with joining the National Guard, but paralegal positions weren't available and the MOSes available would have conflicted with law school. Knowing what I know now, I would have just said bye to law school and go straight to the military.TheSpanishMain wrote:Entrance exam just gets you in to the huge pool of super qualified people who are competing for a small number of slots.
