I'm surprised ATL coverage doesn't focus on the regional affect of the rankings given that almost all if the non-t14 schools are regional. (Ex washington & lee falling will almost certainly help william & mary recruit better in VA; wake forest moving up will likely help it recruit against UNC in NC).

Scene: midlaw office in Richmond.

Hiring partner: "Alright, here's our OCI schedule. Make sure to go out there and recruit the best and brightest students willing to work 90 hours a week for $65k a year."

Drone associate: "Sir, I noticed you have us registered for 10 interviews at Washington and Lee and only 15 interviews at William and Mary."

HP: "Yes, that's how we've done it for years. Do you have a problem with that?"

I loled too, but I meant the ability of schools to recruit students (I doubt that firms care much, but students are definitely of the mindset--oh, this is the best law school in the state according to USNWR!).

Especially if you want to work for William and Mary which 20% of its graduates end up doing.

Sure, USNews rankings are not everything. But i think we can finally dispel the "MVP" language. Not because Duke moved up to 10, but because it should have been dispelled ages ago.
