Facts:
NYU has approx 450 students.
Yale has approx 200 students.
Penn has approx 250 students.
Facts:

NYU graduated 537 JD students in 2013.

Penn graduated 255.

There are these things called transfer students, and NYU takes a buttload of them.

Ok so I'm all for kicking NYU out of whatever grouping Chicago happens to be part of, but this discussion has gone the wrong the direction. The real question is why there is a "T14" option which includes festering shithole of GULC?

No matter how hard you try, it's still YHS CCN.
Sure looks like CCNV to me.

These arbitrary rankings are ridiculous. Why would you group TTTulane with Georgia/Fordham/Ohio State?

I wonder if part of him was basically stating, "We don't hire anyone but T6. So don't go anywhere except T6."
There isn't any firm that meets this criteria, so it can't be that.

His general point was good. Who cares about the exact specific cutoff of what's a good school to attend. His advice is very useful for 0Ls who don't spend hours on LST

Until any law firm (besides Wachtell) behaves as though anything like this were the case, you could safely ignore that advice. You're not turning down Cornell full ride to go to NYU sticker.

If current trends continue, the rule will be don't go anywhere for sticker.

Uh, no. Hypothetically speaking, who cares if Cornell's entry standards are lower than Michigan's if it does a better job placing its graduates into jobs? Who cares if NYU has higher entry standards than Northwestern if it does a worse job in placement? To the degree that entry standards matter at all to firms, they've already taken them into account by selecting how many students to hire/interviewers to send to campus OCIs. The fact that you went to a school that a 172 LSAT median in and of itself is not going to get you jobs down the road.

No point of seeing your post, since you evidently didn't see my post about employment at graduation rates.
I seriously wouldn't wanna go to a school full of kids in the 160s and below 3.8 range.
I mean it's, for most people, their last chance to study with the brightest students.

Northwestern has better job placement than NYU? That just made me chuckle. I didn't even apply to that school. Bring up some hard data. Not the "biglaw" rates, since as I've said, based solely on that, YLS would be worse than Penn, which is clearly nonsense.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
