The Irvine public high schools, particularly Uni and Northwood, are some of the best schools in the state, with higher test scores than Mater Dei or Santa Margarita and the others that you have listed. While the Catholics are fine schools, with a wonderful community, they are also sports machines, and many of their top undergrad college placements are recruited.

It's likely that opportunity may present itself again but as you've said yourself, the girls pre 170+ and post 170+ are leagues apart. Though it would be nice to have her dad's money.
