Your last paragraph is especially right on the money. At the NY biglaw firm I paralegaled at for several years, they used to take a few Yeshiva and Brooklyn people every year, but that seems to have stopped for the summers of 2010 and later.

To answer the original question- I think it has to be USC hands down. I don't see Georgetown offering anything remotely close to that.

Just saw this response, sorry. Yeah, I had some awkward conversations with older associates from NY-area T2s about how the summer classes are now overrun with T6 students. I don't think firms are hiring more T6 students than they used to (actually, we know it is less because CLS used to be pretty much a 100% bet for big law, and it is not anymore) but they have drastically cut hiring from non-elite schools to shrink classes. I don't think people are recognizing this phenomenon. They think that if big law hiring is bouncing back, it is bouncing back for everyone equally, but that is not true.

I am eager to see the c/o 2014 data. On the ground it was a little hard to tell because almost everyone I know got offers, but most of them reported knowing other people who had none, and they expressed shock based on the rosy impression they got from the c/o 2013 data provided to them last spring. A friend of mine who had mentored a lot of 1Ls last year said he felt bad because over the summer he repeatedly told them to relax and that they would have nothing to worry about even if their grades were not so great, and then many of them ended up with few options or no options from EIP. They should have been mass mailing before EIP, but they felt like the rug got pulled out from under them. For the c/o 2015, who knows...

Agree with you that Class of '14 hiring could be down at CLS. But Class of '15 should be back up, because that class is smaller, thus helping on the supply side.

Btw, is there any data on what percentage of CLS students PARTICIPATES in EIP in the first place? (As opposed to the percentage of participants who get offers out of it.)
