I was in your shoes a year ago. Studied but without really knowing what I was doing. Ultimately retaking and re-applying turned out great for me, which is why I recommend it so strongly. There really isn't any downside. And I was already in my late 20's, so I wasn't exactly excited to wait another year.

Agreed. Also, Idk if you should completely disregard UF (and that's coming from a Seminole btw lol). UF places very well in Florida, and quite frankly, I would dare say that there aren't enough 160k+ jobs in FL to justify paying sticker at a T14 in order to return here. That said, I DO think you should retake, because your GPA is out of control and you very well get plenty of money from UVA, Duke, what have you. But if you don't do much better (for whatever reason be it illness, stress, whatever), I think you should definitely keep UF as a solid option.

Take a look at how the schools elaborate on their policies... I'm not sure if it's true or not. For example, Duke is in the "takes highest score" column, but elaborates that "research indicates that taking an average of the scores is most accurate" and that you need to submit an addendum to pursuade them that the bad scores shouldn't be held against you... maybe that accounts for the waitlists mixed in with scholarship offers?

TLS consensus seems to be that the highest score is almost always the one that counts, but all of those explanations by the schools at the above link are heavily qualified and nuanced. What do you guys think about that? Do you think the schools are just paying lip service or should the individual policies be taken seriously?

I mean I'll submit an addendum and the 163 will be a year and a half old next cycle. Should that be good enough for the schools that don't say they average?

BTW what would be the minimum LSAT score to get a scholarship to some T14?

I think my buddy who has a 4.00+ and a 168 got offered $25,000 a year to UVA. Not even going to attend though

If you can get your score to a 171+ you could go to Duke or UVA for free or close to free.
