Folks, I am NOT a torts expert;however, it is my recollection that anyone can be sued for libel if they make false accusations of fact against another individual in writing,which includes the internet that causes potential damages because it portrays them in a negative way. It simply has to be communicated to others, not counting the defamed, and has to portray the defamed in a negative way. Being on the internet is no defense for libelous cases. I've always felt that some of the folks here have gone way too far in their comments against Cooley and others. I did read the pleading by Cooley, and it is the law firm that is the primary target.

I'm sure there are some folks who just took torts and can respond to this better than I.
