Blasphemy. We pretty much invented the cross section between law and economy.

You're Charles E. Clark? (He went to/taught at Yale, not NYU.)clintonius wrote:Heh, "we"? You had a hand in that, did you? Well "we" wrote the rules of Civil Procedure!dresden doll wrote:Blasphemy. Well, my post was tongue in cheek - although I do have a point, fairly speaking.clintonius wrote:Miller!
(Also, just so's y'all know, I'm really only doing this in good fun. As a future NYUer I have no problem saying that Chicago probably deserves their rank)

I'll be doing the same! And yeah, I acknowledge the law and econ point re: Chicago. Just doing the obligatory defense of my school by attacking the "competitor" regardless of reason.dresden doll wrote:Well, my post was tongue in cheek - although I do have a point, fairly speaking.clintonius wrote:Miller!

And, yes, I like to pretend I'm part and parcel of my school's genius by using the all-encompassing 'we' word.
Don't bother, I started that thread. NYC has plenty of problems, but at least it has a (mostly) habitable climate.D Brooks wrote:I was going to link you to the "NYers, get over yourselves" thread, but the search function isn't working.Stanford4Me wrote:Chicago is New York's ugly step-sister. No effing joke.clintonius wrote:This is definitely the wrong week to claim that. It felt more uncomfortable to me the last few days at 90 than it did in Las Vegas at 109.
lung freeze. very unpleasant.clintonius wrote:The stagnant air on the subway platforms is definitely the worst, though for a couple days last week it was painful just walking outside.
All of that aside, it may also get pretty chilly here for a few days in the winter, but not so much in the "I need to call Sharon Stone to clear a path to the subway" manner. From all I hear, Chicago just *hurts.* I've always been too scared to actually go in the winter.

No, it's not, but be advised that by 'career' I mean something more general than the hole that is NYC. That place has so few redeeming qualities and NYU law students have no hopes of ever escaping.Renzo wrote:Psssh. Escape to where? D.C., the birthplace of mediocre, overpriced food? Traffic-ridden and insufferable LA? Houston? Seriously, where would anyone want to escape to that has actually jobs for lawyers?Rand M. wrote:

Man, not the self selection bias argument again. The options are very similar coming from both schools. Let's get back to the nonsensical reasons the OP asked about in his post.Rand M. wrote:Options.Renzo wrote:Escape to where? D.C., the birthplace of mediocre, overpriced food? It's the Willis Tower now. Update your references so you don't compound your wrongness. And given that it's almost 300 ft. taller, you are wrong indeed.CG614 wrote:Empire State Building > Sears TowerRand M. wrote:CG614 wrote:Rand M. wrote:Options.Man, not the self selection bias argument again. As shown by the fact that New York City, and NYU Law are both inferior in this discussion. NYU is just inarguably the 3rd best school in CCN (only because no other schools are included), and NYC is the most overrated city in the world. In both cases, the inhabitants refuse to accept all of the objective flaws of their school and city.CG614 wrote:Size isn't everything.Rand M. wrote:
