It's more pro-jobs than elitism, I suspect. Though telling people to avoid UF/FSU even at in-state tuition seems a little much.darby girl wrote:dukelawguy144 wrote:I don't think any of these law schools are worth going to unless you have a full scholarship.
Miami is not a very good law school...., Florida coastal, Barry nova are the worst schools
imaginable. fsu is probably the best out of these mediocre options
I would retake until you get a score that can get you into a t14 (or ateast a top 25).
your elitist blah blah is sooo annoying!
Everyone, remember this historic moment. It's like the Tehran Conference, when 'Mercuh and the Soviets decided to band together to defeat the Axis.GATORTIM wrote: bro, you arent supposed to post anything that would resemble even the slightest agreement with anything I say!
Kalvano had a great link. PM him/her.darby girl wrote:does anyone know of a site or forum that portrays the app acceptance date (sept 1, oct 1, whatever) for each school? it seems tedious to go to each law school's site...

Agree...both schools are an insane bargain (w/ in-state tuition) and cost of attendance is something in the ballpark of a 2008 Jetta. I will be attending (cover your eyes and grab vomit bag rad law) Stetson, but would gladly have gone to UF/FSU if my wife's job transfer could have taken her to Tally or Gainesville.rad law wrote:telling people to avoid UF/FSU even at in-state tuition seems a little much.
I just vomited because the word "Agree" followed a quote of mine.GATORTIM wrote:Agree...both schools are an insane bargain (w/ in-state tuition) and cost of attendance is something in the ballpark of a 2008 Jetta. I made the mistake of tracking down the calorie info for the curry mustard sauce. There's a reason it's so good. Now I can't eat it.paz wrote:cuban chop w/ curry mustard sauce = win.

How much does location and QOL really count for? Yale is in New Haven. Jeez. I would go to school in a cardboard box if I knew I could get market afterward.darby girl wrote: Stetson is a fine school. And this may help out the OP, but after factoring in COL and location, and the fact that I think tally is SO nasty and a sorostitution soaked in cocaine addiction, I would PERSONALLY probably say UF>>>>>Stetson>FSU>>>>>>Miami, if stetson offered some scholarship, which they probably would if you have the numbers for UF....

Darbs, you're killing me here. That's just silly. Job prospects for the rest of your life > 3 years.darby girl wrote:rad law wrote:How much does location and QOL really count for? But saying you'd go to Stetson over FSU when FSU has better statewide prospects and is cheaper just because Stetson is in a nice place is really silly.GATORTIM wrote: Location is very important if you aren't attending a school with national reach.
I said if stetson offered scholarship money equivilating the price.. i'd be miserable in tally.rad law wrote:But saying you'd go to Stetson over FSU when FSU has better statewide prospects and is cheaper just because Stetson is in a nice place is really silly.GATORTIM wrote: Location is very important if you aren't attending a school with national reach.

I just took a tour at UF Law (like, 20 minutes ago) and I thought the facilities were mediocre. However, I found the faculty to be extremely helpful and friendly. The admissions guy told me he would "bet money" on me getting a straight acceptance (not waitlisted) so that excited me!!paq04 wrote:FSU and UF are basically the same. The grades that one earns at either one of these schools is FAR more important to their future job prospects than which of the two institutions you graduate from. Once the cost of tuition is factored in there is a huge drop off between these two and the other FL schools.
Several professors at FSU seem to think that FSU will jump UF in the USWN rankings in the next year or two. It seems like FSU offers better 1L summer opportunities than UF, because there are simply so many law firms and government jobs around Tallahassee (and in an incredibly close proximity to the law school). Additionally, FSU's faculty is ranked 23rd in the nation in scholarly impact.

Off to FSU tomorrow, so I will let OP know what I think. I have had extremely bad opinions about FSU UG though, so it will be hard to sway me!
