But yeah, clerking including state and local is 19.1%. Numbers for clerkships look to be the highest they've been in a while.

Exactly, if the economics dictate it, every firm will let you go if they need to preserve that PPP. I agree that this is definitely the best year since the crash and it is possible for another cravath raise, but I am also holding off on buying a house because I am paranoid that we will end up in a recession by the end of the year.cheaptilts wrote:curry1 wrote:don't care as long as I go through OCI and get a firm with a 100% offer rate before it starts.BigZuck wrote:Guys let's not jinx ourselves into a recession
Modz plzBigZuck was [probably half-]joking, but how will nabbing a job at OCI with a 100% offer rate prevent you from getting Latham'd/stealth'd in a recession?

Didn't we agree earlier that physics dictates that there be two raises prior to any recession? I'm already spending as if the second raise has hit.trebekismyhero wrote:Exactly, if the economics dictate it, every firm will let you go if they need to preserve that PPP. 85 grads in 100+ firms

56.59% Biglaw/Fed Clerk rate. [2015 was 47.02%, so +9.57% this year]
WOW. Best numbers from a non traditional T14 school in the past 8-9 years?

Don't worry, the TLS UT posters are doing their part to prepare everyone for the sub 50% number that is inevitably coming.

Re: Class of 2016 Employment Statistics by School
I imagine a lot of previous classes are feeling salty right now.
One would think the market would continue trending in a positive direction for a little bit. Even if things stagnate, the graduating classes for the next few years will be significantly smaller than in previous years, which can only help the situation.

I doubt many people from the classes 2010-2012 (the worst post-recession) are looking at the statistics this year. But yeah, does suck for them because their GPA/LSAT scores were higher too and had to deal with bigger classes and smaller Big Law SA classes.vcap180 wrote:I imagine a lot of previous classes are feeling salty right now.

Yeah for sure. It's crazy how much of this comes down to sheer luck/timing.
