Real mature IFAG. Telling people to go work as a secretary and work you way up is stupid.

Entry level in a field that interests you --> work hard --> become successful
OR
Waste three years at a middling law school --> incur massive debt --> if you're lucky, begin a career you don't enjoy --> become successful?

IAFG, why do you think we should get entry level jobs? If it's only on the basis of an LSAT score, I disagree. If it's because you think that no one is "too good" for an entry level job, including yourself, then I can kinda, slightly understand your point.IAFG wrote:really? explain to me why HK and you should not get entry-level jobs.hiromoto45 wrote:Real mature IFAG. Re: BP decides where you go to law school
i got an entry-level job out of school, and moved up. after not that long too. it is just so naive to get a professional degree because you don't want to do entry-level work. what do you think 1st year associates are doing, flying to Paris to negotiate major deals?hellokitty wrote:IAFG, why do you think we should get entry level jobs? Michigan: 54k
UVA: sticker (though $ may come through...)
GULC: sticker
Vanderbilt: 45k
I want to do public interest (human rights, anti-discrimination, gender issues) somewhere warm. I keep hearing mixed things on how much the region of your law school matters in public interest hiring (vs. firms).

I'm not in HK's position. I was just stating that law school does lead to different careers. Not everyone is going to stay a lawyer. Many senators, presidents etcs went to law school. Some people go to law school never intending to practice law. So calling me an idiot, IAFG, for not agreeing with you is dumb.

go to law school expecting to be a lawyer OR come from the Kennedy or Bush family... yes, very very applicable to the general public.
