Seriously, I hate the Gators. These past few years have been nauseating.js87 wrote:I never thought I'd root for Alabama, but this weekend I am. I'm so sick of Tebow. The enemies of my enemies are my friendsMoose Thompson wrote:

Please don't take my opinion on this seriously.
I am in the same boat. Looking to go into Environmental law, public sector. The debt I would accumulate at UM is difficult to swallow and I applied too late to get any money.randyn wrote:UM full sticker 40k

FIU TTTT 14k
I am highly anticipating acceptances to both, but am unsure whether I will get money from UM.
I don't care about big law but I do want solid employment prospects in south Florida.

...and if you DO have any BigLaw desire, abandon all hope right about now.js87 wrote:What is your goal? If you don't have any biglaw desire, take FIU and minimize your debt load. It's an up and coming school in the region. Just avoid Nova and St Thomas like the plague

If you think that the late application is the only thing holding you back from money at Miami, I suggest you wait a year. The 23k scholarship is worth at least 23k (do not maintain requisite gpa) at most 69k (maintain gpa). I think those savings more than offset the opportunity cost of putting off school for a year, especially if you can find something worthwhile to do for that year.tigerlilly17 wrote:I am in the same boat. Also, if you have numbers to get $$ at UM, you must have gotten a full ride at FIU, right? Also, no FSU/UF option?whuts4lunch wrote:If you think that the late application is the only thing holding you back from money at Miami, I suggest you wait a year.
