Re: Fordham with $45k/year, or T14 at sticker?
Thanks, I didn't realize that it was possible to get rent down that low within semi-reasonable hailing distance of Columbus Circle. A relative of mine lived in Hell's Kitchen in the late aughts and even then was paying $1500 as half the rent on a small one-bedroom walkup. Also every time I visited $50 flew out of my wallet if I even opened the door.

Untrue. 3.6/169 is big money at my school (Cornell).Clemenceau wrote:Depends what you mean by big. Someone with like a 3.6/169 is likely getting into all of those schools, and not getting big money from any.proteinshake wrote:I mean yeah but it's likely (of course I'm assuming OP isn't a splitter or anything which is a big assumption), which is why I said probablydabigchina wrote:this is not necessarily true.proteinshake wrote:umm if you got into Duke/Mich, you probably have numbers that will get you BIG money from Cornell/GULC. just wait.

Brooklyn and Cardozo have more associates at those 10 firms than UVa has employed in NY last year...

Fordham does negotiate - maybe you just didn't play the game right - but OP might well be able to get more money.taxman14 wrote:Bull crap - Fordham is shit for negotiating. Had a Dillard and tried to have them match the full ride and they wouldn't budge.
I also think you guys are making crazy assumptions that OP will get BIG money at the lower T14 just because he got into Duke/Michigan. Maybe a small scholarship to incentivize him to go a tad lower rank. I think you're giving him fairly misrepresentative info that could make him have unrealistic goals.

You realize that those numbers cover all currently employed associates, right?doc b wrote:http://abovethelaw.com/2016/09/the-best ... glaw-jobs/

If you're biglaw or bust, T14. Otherwise Fordham.
