I'm just getting old and was hoping to be able to start my career as soon as possible lol. I also am not too concerned with making a lot of money (which is why I went for Criminal Justice), I just want to enjoy my job and feel like I'm doing something meaningful with my life.
I'm currently going through the hiring process with the ATF (about 2/3rds the way there) but that won't be finished until past August. If it works out I'd be delaying law school anyway. I also thought about maybe attending UC and transferring after the first year.
Nothing much to add except that I was 25 when I entered law school and there were plenty of people at the same age or older when I entered. So don't worry about "being too old."
My starting score was also 162, and while I didn't have as high as an increase as some of the other people in this thread, I nabbed a 167 and it made all the difference in the world.
Good luck OP!

I ended up with a 14 point score increase.
That's awesome! Where do you plan on going this year? I was in a similar spot and only had about a month and a half to study for the LSAT.
I plan on going to Harvard.

That's awesome congrats!

. I bet you are super happy you waited and retook the LSAT. I would honestly be very happy with Georgetown (even though everyone dogs on them), or Northwestern! Really think I'll likely just wait and retake now.

That's awesome and still a much better score! It's crazy what even a few points will do scholarship wise. Thanks for making me not feel so old too. Part of the reason I'm concerned about age is I know for some federal government positions 37 is the cut off, which I'd still be well within though. Thanks for the advice!

Good choice. Very little harm will come from retaking and waiting for another cycle. If anything, it will most likely help you significantly. Once you rationally weigh the costs and benefits, you will realize that there is little reason to not retake and try again. Worst case scenario is that you end up with the same score, but it sounds like you ended up with a high score for only a short amount of study.
