Shut them down. All of them. Law school tuition is going to hit 190 before NY does
What a joke

I really don't get your thought process here. This is Boalt x 100... it's not even close. The SV firms that do this work (WSGR/Cooley/Fenwick/Gunderson) are dominated by Boalt grads. Why would you spend 3 years in Durham, North Carolina if you want to work in the Valley? If the answer is "to save $30k over 3 years" or "because the last Boalt dean was a creeper" then I'm not sure what to tell you...KiltedKicker wrote:I appreciate all of the helpful info. In case it helps to know my personal info, I was offered 135 at Boalt (which will probably leave me with 25-30 in tuition to cover. Won't need loans), 100K from NYU, and have a Mordecai from Duke. I want to work in corporate startup law in the Bay Area. Beginning to think I should make a decision thread about my choice
Source = Boalt 3L who will be at one of these firms.

I don't know anything about the current deficit, but I went to UCB for undergrad (and have lived in California forever) and for every year since, like, 2002 there have been stories about the impending financial collapse of UC Berkeley and/or the UC system. Through it all, the law school has had essentially the same student-quality/faculty-quality/placement/ranking (which, by the way, is essentially the same relative student-quality/faculty-quality/placement/ranking it had in 1965). I really don't think much is likely to change.grades?? wrote:Yes.

Last time this happened, they stopped paying professors. Sure it is a great school, but if the deficit continues, will all those great professors stay when they are not paid or will they go to greener pastures? Just something to consider. But unlike everyone else, I do not think it's a safe bet that won't affect you, because likely it will.
Full disclosure, I do go to PVD.

Ya, I agree. Boalt is the right call I think. I think I could justify Duke if I really preferred the school, but I think Berkeley is an incredible school with awesome people and I will be very happy going there. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you all for the help.
