An alternative approach:

WUSTL for free + solid chance to transfer to UCLA after 1L = 1/3 or more discount off of UCLA if you leave, free law school if you don't.

Obviously keep your permanent residency in CA for this plan, but that's default anyway I believe.

Great full offer from WUSTL but a little surprised they would offer full rides to those not above medians on both. Are they not doing to well on applicants??

What did you say to WUSTL when negotiating? I have similar numbers and got the same original scholly to WUSTL $38k

But if I applied to transfer, chances are I wouldn't get the same scholarship I have right now. So if I went to WUSTL for a year and then transferred to UCLA and payed sticker for two years, I would only save the ~$45k (plus fees & COL) but would waste the $60k scholarship. Not seeing how this would help me.

Is it? According to: http://www.lstscorereports.com/compare/ ... /michigan/ it seems that UMich comes out a bit cheaper once you factor in COL and the employment scores are pretty similar.

Take UCLA or USC if you want BigLaw in Cali. If you are super open to any job go to WashU. They don't place well in Cali but you will have no debt and you will have connections in So Cal to help you get there.
