Life at Bloomington > Life in Champaign/Urbana. Seriously, having been to both campuses, I would rather give up on Law School than spend 3 years in that city--especially as a graduate student. Personal preference.

I'd say visit before you commit. They are what.. 3 or 4 hours apart? You can do that in a single weekend.

I can understand using campus vibe and social life as a factor to compare similar schools and similar offers, but unless OP was dead set on practcing in Indiana, choosing IUB over UIUC makes zero sense, even if UIUC were Guantanamo Bay. OP would be looking at cutting his big law and Chicago odds in half.
