Re: University of Denver Sturm College of Law
I lived in Denver and know a good bit about DU.
DU is not a great school. It has a few major problems.
1. It's close to a better school that I believe costs less, or is at the least better
2. Denver is a small market. A DU degree is not going to give you much regional flexibility. There are plenty of T14 peeps that leave for fancy school and come back to biglaw there. If you go to DU it's a big risk for private sector prospects. You either need very good grades, connections, or no debt for the math to be solid. Denver pay is lower than major markets and cost of living is big time on the rise. And DU ain't cheap... If you want private sector at all DU puts you in tough statistical shape.
3. All that being said, living in Denver was seriously amazing. The year I lived there I snowboarded 40 days. QOL is simply unbeatable. Great young scene, great dating scene. I'll definitely be considering Denver as OCI approaches. But, I'm in no way shape or form considering DU, nor would I.
I saw a thread about the Denver market a while ago and also one about DU v CU. use the search function on here, I think it might help you.

Is the river in Denver sort of small creek, or is it a nice place to hang out?downbeat14 wrote:I lived in Denver and know a good bit about DU.

You're talking Platte right? Not really my kind of thing, more of a hiker and mountains guy. Maybe it's nice. I know they are renovating the area.
Red rocks is awesome as are all the ski resorts. Lots of health conscious people, so easy to meet fit/active friends/love interests in the city and in the surrounding areas.
The culture is also great. It's a live and let live kind of vibe.
Takeaway message is if you want Denver private practice, then gun for the LSAT score that gets you in to a T14 and establish ties if you can. Forget DU, employment record blows.

Plus if it's the best school you end up being able to get into then you probably should go into business or something where you can actually have a good shot at making money and not becoming an indentured servant to the government.
