Re: TLS adopt-a-state week
How do we stop the schools from just undoing what we do? Couldn't their admissions deans just delete our edits? I put FL Coastal on my "watch list" but idk if that will help or anything

Both South Carolina schools have been updated. Thanks for the template, made it it a breeze.

Just wanted to say this is an extremely good idea and you are a great OP by making it easier for people to involved. After work today I'll check the list and adopt a state.

I just noticed that the page for YLS has literally zero info about employment or cost. Like if you ctrl-F "employ" or "cost" you get nothing. Lol

I haven't wikipediaed much, but I think you can "undo" someone else's edits as well as report an IP or user for vandalism. Make sure to use the 'describe changes' at the bottom of the page with each edit you do so it can be easy to see what is going on and which versions to revert to.Cicero76 wrote:How do we stop the schools from just undoing what we do? Also it's incredibly easy for us to just change it back, I think Wikipedia has a "revert changes" option if entire sections are deleted. I think what we need to watch out for is people changing employment statistics (i.e. that MCL Dean claiming 90% employment...)criminaltheory wrote:I haven't wikipediaed much, but I think you can "undo" someone else's edits as well as report an IP or user for vandalism. Ok, all nine Illinois schools are done.
Northwestern's page is hilarious.

I'll start working on the New England schools when I'm home. I'll start with Connecticut. This is a great idea. The schools could edit it but you can revert. If there's too much activity mods will look into it. They actually have a lot of controls in place and are proponents of accurate information. I would imagine the mods would side with us. They can make it so certain content can't be edited. We could reach out to them if there's an issue.

You can check Wisconsin off. I did UW, while Marquette already had most of the information present (so rather than sticking to your full format, I just added what they lacked where it fit).

Also someone's calling out Loyola...
In March 2011, Loyola Law School Dean Victor Gold penned an op-ed in the Huffington Post, accusing U.S. News & World Report of "refus[ing] to consider diversity as a factor in its ranking system." Gold asserted that "[t]here is a broad consensus among law school deans and professors that diversity enriches law school education." Loyola, which has a large Asian student body, claims 37% of its students are "minorities," but it does not provide any specifics.

Some of the websites also aren't updated with 2013 employment data. I had two that showed 2012's numbers yet, so I just linked directly to their 2013 509 PDF.Brut wrote:just a quick heads up for those of you doin this

Also John Marshall's Wiki had something about its proximity to the Chicago financial district being, like, so totally beneficial for getting grads jobs. I took that out and replaced it with their underemployment score because relevance.

Re: TLS adopt-a-state week
California is officially done. This has been the most productive 3 hours I've ever had at work.
Doing this definitely reinforced my already solid belief that there should be at most 6 law schools allowed to stay open in CA (Stanford, Cal, UCLA, USC, UCD, UCI). Literally the rest of the remaining 16+ are festering TTTs that under no circumstance should anyone attend.

got maurer and mckinney so farRicky-Bobby wrote:Which ones are you doing?John Everyman wrote:Working on Indiana, I'll need a hand.
McKinney's is a little rough, but I don't think it's fair to delete things like this
"Of the 203 American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law schools evaluated for its 2015 edition (released March 11, 2014), U.S. News & World Report ranked the school in the top 100 (#87) best law schools, 8th in legal writing, 10th in healthcare law (tied with Harvard) and 18th in part-time legal programs.[2][3] In 2010, based on the number of graduates selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers magazine in 2009, that publication ranked the school 44th out of 180 law schools considered (one spot behind Notre Dame (#43), fifteen spots ahead of IU Maurer (#59), and one hundred seven ahead of Valparaiso (#151))."
