People say I disturb them all the time, so I'm used to it. I hardly said "Screw it, Duke it is!" I feel very fortunate to have my future earnings potential change drastically with this new score and the new opps. it brings me with law school and careers. I don't want to take another year off, but I told myself that I would only go to school now if I was not disadvantaged by negotiating so late in the game. As I said previously, I knew of a few people with very similar stats and very similar work experience post-college, and all of them got a little money at CCN, or a lot more money at one of the lower T14s (Mich, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell). In all of those scenarios, since debt is one of my primary factors in this decision, I would choose the lower school that gives me more money. They increased my scholly unsolicited to a good bit over half tuition. I asked for more, and they're tapped out unless more opens up.BigZuck wrote:Not asking for more and just saying "Screw it, Duke it is!" is an objectively bad and dumb decision. That's not even in my opinion, that is a fact.
Duke was also like literally the easiest school for me to negotiate with last year. I don't know why but the OP's blaséness when we're talking about tens of thousands of dollars is kind of disturbing to me.
DUKE IT IS.
