So no I will not be retaking and worse case if I can't get the job I want in KY Ill just take my garunteed job. But like i said, thanks guys, I actually enjoyed reading the mania that can ensue on tls. take care all.

In all fairness I was curious as to what the responses would be, and was quite frankly hoping there would still be some positive thoughts. but either way it doesn't really affect my future.

Let's see: Louisville is in Kentucky, so that makes me think Kentucky is the right choice here. I mean, why get a city degree when you can get a state one?

Then again, I went to tank school at Fort Knox, and we used to go to Louisville all the time on the weekends to get hammered (Fort Knox is in a dry county, you see, so it was either E-town or Louisville if you wanted to get a snoot full). The proximity to Trixie's alone is probably worth the soul-crushing debt and piss-poor job prospects.

I don't know, OP, this is a tough one. Real hard choice here.
Ft knox and e-town are in the same county.

Just looked it up. Apparently it's a 'moist county,' and individual municipalities can vote to allow alcohol sales. E-town started allowing off-premises sales in 2011, long after I was gone.

OP, I'm guessing that you're out-of-state. Why do you want to work in KY? For the record, I am very familiar with both schools, and you should retake. Get 8 points or so higher and you'll be looking at a full ride. People here are honestly trying to help you.

Apparently so. Wanted to see responses, none of which will have any impact on his future? Cool. Story. Bro.

I don't think so.

OP claimed in his last thread to have made 150K last year, not 120K, in Kentucky, and that his reason for wanted to change careers was that
I have already maxed out my career progression in my current occupation
He asked TLS whether business or law school would be the
"'smarter' decision ...and by smarter I mean employment opportunities, ROI, work/life balance, or anything that you think should be factored in when making this decision."
I think he was seeking validation for what he knows is a really stupid decision (at least in terms of employment opportunities, ROI and work/life balance (his most important factors)), didn't find any validation, and tried to play if off cool.

I did make 150k last year. Left that company for one with slightly less hours. Just 65 a week compared to 75-80 hours. And honestly I don't need validation. I can get my law degree, work for one of my previous employers as in house on a 50 hour week making 100k plus. They offered to pay for my jd but I turned them down. You may say it was a dumb move but I didn't want to be forced to work for this company. If I do well enough in law school and can get a job at a mid size that's what I would prefer. If not I'll go back and work for this company in a very different capacity. That's why I was curious as to which would be a better fit for me, wasn't really a social experiment (although this site is rather amusing). Simply did not want to complicate the responses with another variable. Regardless this was a waste of my time and most of yours. For that I do apologize.

Can you give us any concrete examples of "mid sizes" that hire freshly minted grades from these schools?

Complicate the responses with another variable? This situation isn't complex to begin with.

That's more along the lines of what I was asking tls. But what I gather most of the firms in lex and louisville hire from one of these two schools.

So with guaranteed employment, albeit not my preferred job but still better than my current job, lets hear everyone's thoughts? I'm looking forward to this

What is more along the lines of what you were asking TLS? Also, we don't know anything about this garunteed job.

Look, most people are going to assume that you're mentally ill to pass on a 100K+ sure thing, especially to pay for a JD from a school that doesn't really offer 100K+ jobs in return. Not even a "love of the law" (whatever that is) can explain such a move. So I'm not sure what you're looking for here. Whatever reason you have to leave your current job and whatever reason you have to go to law school is almost certainly going to be looked at as retarded. And that's because it is. These schools don't really give access to high paying jobs, and whatever high paying jobs exist will almost certainly be as soul-crushing, mind-numbing, and time intensive as whatever you've got going now.

What is it that you're looking for from TLS?

OP, you never mentioned why you want to work in KY. If Louisville is giving you 12k you must be out of state.

Why the fuck do you keep talking about guaranteed employment from these shitholes? The only guaranteed employment is staying at your current job.

I hope you outlive your children.

Kentucky is not a "shithole"

Actually has one of the better employment scores in the country: 70.7% (no school funded)
