I think my main concern is still with whether or not I can do better on my LSAT and whether or not I can get into a better school or receive a bigger scholarship. I studied like crazy for my last exam and even took several months off work to study. So I'm not confident in how much better I can do if I retake.

Just to clarify, the 80K per year salary is for a legal assistant with 10 years of experience. I'm a legal assistant right now. I have no idea whether or not a starting out associate will be earning more or less than that.
Your main concern should be going into 150K debt and being unemployable -- there's a 60 percent chance of doing that at Hastttings.

Making 80K in a few years as a legal assistant seems like a pretty awesome deal to me.

Honestly, unless you get up to the mid-high 160s, you should stay in your current job and not become a lawyer--maybe even if you do hit the mid to high 160s. Such is law school/the legal profession today. Sorry.

With the options you have, you should honestly just quit thinking about starting law school this fall and devour TLS for its fantastic LSAT resources. Schools do not average scores and you still have one try left w/in your current 2 year period - take the LSAT again. Aim for 165+ .... it's a learnable test. Best of luck!

Okay, looks like most of you guys believe I should stick to my current job. I really do love my current job as I do a good amount of lawyer work (draft complaints/motions/contracts and westlaw research). Just thought I should shoot for my dream of being a lawyer before settling to be an assistant. But if that dream comes with a lot debt and potential of not even being a lawyer in the end, I should reconsider.

I studied with Blueprint summer classes for my first test. For the second time, I purchased their video course and went through all the videos, homework and prep test again. I also looked to TLS for additional advice while studying the second time.

Don't go to Chapman bro. You've literally got a 33% chance of getting an actual job as a lawyer. Retake
