Tech isn't bad, it's cheap and so is lubbock. That being said, if you want to work in Houston go to U of H, if you want Dallas go to SMU and if you want to work anywhere in Texas go to UT. I decided to go to Tech over both SMU and U of H, but my situation is different. I have a full ride at Tech with zero debt, and my wife makes six figures. She is also scheduled to go to Washington state when I graduate so really no one up there will care or even recognize the difference between which Texas school I attended.

If you're worried about a job, and you should be, go to a great school and be almost guaranteed a job. Tech is nice, but it in no way guarantees you a job. Now if you raise your LSAT a bit and get a full ride here, that might make things a bit more reasonable.

As far as JAG goes, Tech has a lot of former JAGs here to include a 2 star. But all the help from them won't make a lick of difference if you can't pass a pt test and medical evaluation.

See the military law thread if interested in JAG. Medical and PT are the last two barriers. 90% of people fail before that.
