You can live in Lawrence pretty cheap. Would you have the stones to drop out after 1L if you lost your scholarship? You could try to transfer even with slightly below median grades. Other regional schools, like UNC, might take you because they wouldn't have to count your LSAT plus you would pay full freight...
FSU would def take you...
If you retook for UNC what amount of $$$ would you need to attend?

Re: Full ride to regional or retake?
Ok I understand that a law degree is not needed for a compliance job but these articles would suggest otherwise. If I am able to maintain my scholarship I would be able to graduate with little debt which would allow me to take a lower paying job. I hope to serve as a graduate assistant as a 2 or 3L.

I would consider transferring to UNC but even if I lose my scholarship it is still cheaper to attend KU.

I'm in the exact same position as you are. When I visited Kansas about a month ago, the guy I spoke to said that a 3.0 usually pans out to be just a little lower than the top 50%. As far as negotiating, I seriously doubt they would. I was told that if they are giving me a full tuition scholarship, then they expect me to be in the top half of the class.whm0829 wrote:Thanks. Do schools typically negotiate on stips? Or is it kind of insulting to negotiate on their generous offers?

What they meant was "we give almost twice as many scholarships than our budget can handle, so we hope you lose it"Ron_Burgundy wrote: I was told that if they are giving me a full tuition scholarship, then they expect me to be in the top half of the class.
pretty much every legit law school only has a "don't fail out" stip

idk about Kansas in particular, but many schools with stips negotiate them down, but it usually req a better offer (like a similar scholly without a stip)
