If you do worse you'll have the same options next year

If you do better then you'll have a better show at accomplishing your goals

Your dad is out of touch

I don't see why retaking is taking a chance but going to a school that's bad for your goals is a safe play

You aren't taking a chance dude. Those schools will literally be available to you next cycle at similar costs.

0L Advice Warning

Can your dad guarantee you a firm job when you're out of law school? If you're going to law school for free, and you'd be able to get gainful employment after graduating, it seems like the only thing you really have to grapple with is wasting your parent's money.

But it sounds like you have a good relationship with your parents, they have money, and you would be able to take a year off and retake the LSAT on their dime. If you have that kind of option, I don't see why you wouldn't take off a year and just retake a test. It'll probably be more fun of a year than a year spent as a 1L in law school. Hell, if I had rich parents that allowed me to live at home, I would think long and hard about my options outside of law school.

Not really outside of HLS, because it doesn't affect medians (from what I understand)

None of these options provide a reasonably probable avenue to biglaw.
