I really don't care about "prestige" I care about getting a job. As I said earlier, I was speaking to attorneys and judges in the area that have nothing but good things to say about Nova. I'll be attending there in the fall at a low cost and I'm damn proud of that.
Your sample size (successful judges and actual lawyers) is skewed and nonrepresentative of the alumni at large, but you already knew that.

Why do you feel the need to necro this thread after a week at this point? We don't really have anything else to tell you at this point.

How old are these lawyers and judges? I'd guess most of them are baby boomers if they're already that well established in their careers. Even though these people likely mean well and are genuinely trying to be helpful, they graduated in a totally different job market, when even a TTT JD did indeed provide at least decent opportunities. Tuition back then was also a fraction of what it is today, so of course no one ever considered retaking the LSAT. You need to talk to people who graduated law school in the last five years to get their impressions.

Also, at TLS being Big Law or bust. People talk about it a lot because it really is Big Law or bust if you're paying sticker somewhere, but if you remove that factor, there's a pretty diverse range of interests. Have you noticed the several hundred page threads on becoming a DA/PD, JAG, AUSA, etc?

Also, 25k a year with your scholarship? 75k plus interest plus living expenses (even if you live at home, there's gas for that hour commute, there's books, there's lunch, etc) is not a "low cost." You're probably looking at over 100k in debt. Run that by those judges who think Nova is such a great plan.

As a matter of fact Spanish Man, the majority of attorneys I've spoken to graduated between 2006-2012. Some of the attorneys and obviously judges have graduated before that but in total, I've spoken to maybe 35-40 professionals in the field and some of those didn't even go to Nova.

On a side note, scholarship was increased with decent stips (so long as I don't flunk out .) I'll be in good shape debt wise upon graduating. I don't know why you and the rest of these prestige whores (Zuck in particular) are such pessimists on this school and other lower tier institutions with decent placement records. It's one thing to bash a school like FL Coastal but a school with a decent LST score is worth taking a look at.

Like I said earlier, I'm putting more stock into what those in my field/reigon say over all you guys. It's kind of a shame because outside of a very select number of articles on this site, I'm really starting to lose faith in TLS. Instead of offering advice to others in similar situations as I that don't have the numbers or need for the t14 prestige, you all criticize and offer absolutely no help. I believe I am doing enough networking and "hustling" if you will, before even starting LS to suffice for whatever school I choose to get my JD from.

minimum wage = ~16k/year

So, after taxes, 80k a year is roughly minimum wage while paying off sticker debt.

That's why no one's recommending sticker. Even if you win, you lose.

I think others define "decent placement records" differently than you do.

Yea, 25% underemployment with a slightly better than a coinflips chance at making 50k a year sounds like something they should be paying you to do.

If I were all about blindly chasing prestige, I would have almost certainly chosen a different school for myself. I also wouldn't tell people to stop worrying about USNWR rankings and I would advocate schools like GULC a hell of a lot more than I do. I think I'm much more of a "Get a job and don't drown in debt" whore than anything else, but of course you know that and I see what you did there.

My favorite part is him looking down on FL Coastal, while calling Zuck elitist. If he's going for free including COL, it's not a terrible decision though.

The only reason I clicked on it was because I thought it was a joke. Which it was.
