Only school I know of is U Chicago- no credit for externships. Was a turn off for me. Not really relevant to this discussion, because pretty much every other law school gives extern credit.

What is with this spectacular "Miami alumni base" I keep hearing about?

What is your COA at each? You say you have family in NorCal. Would you be living with them?

Just retake Iggy.

Seriously, it will do you so much better to do that. People aren't being "prestige whores," they are concerned with jobs and debt.

Retake. It's a pain in the ass, but worth it. Use this forum (the LSAT section) to your advantage and retake.

When you get into higher ranked schools or awesome scholarships, you'll thank these knowledgable posters who gave the best answers, not the one you wanted.

I came out of UG with shit grades and walked into the LSAT and got a 162 first time. A third tier school threw some money my way (with an awesome alumni base that looks out for each other yadda yadda) , and I took it because I was in too much of a hurry to get on with my life and start making money. I did everything right in law school - graduated with honors, crushed legal writing, journal, worked while in law school, etc. It took me 3 years of 60 hour weeks to kind of escape my LSAT and UG GPA/shitty law school (I still could not have made it to DC for govt jobs like you want). Learn from my mistake. I wish I would have worked for a year doing anything and studying for the LSAT to get even a 166. Even 100 hours of studying for the LSAT now will do so much more for you than 1000 hours of work in law school. You have 60k saved up right now - you must be doing something right. Stay in your job for one more year and study the LSAT.

If you insist on fucking up, go to Miami. Hastings is shit. Also if you insist on fucking up, I'd keep your savings intact and use loan money for living expenses because you will most likely be riding out IBR for 20 years and not approach paying it back in full.
