You seem like a pretty chill social bro in Remedies. There are some strivers in there that I want to choke most classes.
usually too hungover to process life at that point of the day. that class is full of 1L gunners.
df, the killself advice seems credited, but i'm too much of a pussy (see: going to law school). any other advice?
Realize that law is inherrently unprestigious and stop caring.

I was kinda distracted - there was only enough room in his van for the one seat, so I had to sit on his lap, and he kept shifting around - but I still managed to get a 148, which I'm pretty sure is awesome. I know you're going to say that I'm the right guy for law school, but I wanted some verification.
Why is law school an awesome idea for me?
Three years of free cost of living.

TCR. I guess it's Virginia for me - 1,095 Days of popped collars and keg stands. Then, at the end, I can run for office.

My stats are a solid 134 LSAT (I'm not going to retake) and a 2.12 GPA. I'm heading to the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. I don't mind paying sticker there because I'll pay off my debt quickly with my high salary. I'm planning to study really hard so I'll definitely be #1 in my class. I'm then going to clerk for the Supreme Court for a year before becoming a top lawyer for the ACLU. Once I get done with that, I'm going to start up my own law firm where I'll focus on Entertainment and International law. Half the year I'll represent the stars (planning on spending my summers hanging out with celebrities at their pools. YOLO.) and the other half of the year arguing in front of the UN Court of Human Rights. After that, I'll be rich and famous, so I suppose I'll run for president or take a seat on the Supreme Court. I might also open up a law school in Indiana or California. To the best of my knowledge they need another one there. I'll definitely focus on a groundbreaking approach including ethics. See, I've got this shit all worked out. Now, I've heard you tell other people that these are difficult things to get into, but I'm smarter than those other people and will work super hard and do it. So checkmate, haters.
So, am I perfect, or am I perfect?

A law degree is the most expensive path to your dream job. Why do you hate money?
Money is merely an arbitrary tool to help us obtain what we want.
But you right, more unpaid campaign internships should do the trick.

The fact that you wrote this sentence means law school would be a terrible waste of time and money for you.
Stick to teaching and enjoy your short work days and three months of summer vacation.

But like, crypto-currencies for everyone man.
LOL because I'm curious are there any GOOD reasons to go to law school? Clearly bottles and models is the closest.

Its the quickest way for a humanities major to make a good salary for 2-4 years until you realize you're pretty much unemployable after you get booted. This is assuming you get a ton of money at a good school, and can get into a big firm. Two big assumptions.

I'm tired of feeling inferior during legal discussions in the lounge due to my pathetic 0L status, and of how witty and cynical people on the lounge are, and feel that immense debt will perhaps help me get there. Is law school a good decision for me?

Think of us as a bunch of smart-ass baristas at Starbucks. Sure, we write some biting commentary, but honestly: who gives a fuck?

I can provide counterpoints as needed. I am happy with my decision to attend law school and enjoy my current job.

A tour guide giving the recently admitted 0L's a campus tour the other day asked a student in the student lounge area if they had "any advice" for the newbies.
They made the mistake of asking a 3L.
The resulting tirade began with "Don't go", toured through the ineptitude of career services, the absurd lack of competence and money-grubbing of the administration, the number of programs being cut because of the reduction in class size, the utter lack of jobs in our area even for those in the top 20% of the class and so on.
It was a beautiful thing.
They will all likely send in their seat deposits anyway.

I want to be the next David Otunga, or in other words, attend HLS and become a professional wrestler. On a pro wrestler salary, sticker is doable.

You need to develop a more identifiable shtick than Otunga did. Nobody gives a fuck about dude in that organization.

Maybe the Chris Nowinski gimmick has more potential.

If you have the strange desire to gain 30 pounds, become pale and out of shape, develop a sleep disorder, become an emotionally fragile shell of your former self, take pleasure in nothing other than downing booze, fantasize about killing opposing counsel via obscure forms of torture for filing 17 frivolous motions on a totally horseshit case just so he can bill hours, deal with court systems where the dockets are so clogged that it takes 9 years just to make it to hearing/trial, and make barely enough money to have your own apartment in the ghetto and not enough to pay off the interest accruing on your loans, and have your only chance of sex being other fat, divorced, middle-aged drunk people you hook up with at Bar Louie or Craigslist, law school is right for you.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
