Someone told me this too, I seriously hope it was the same person and there isn't more than 1 of them running around.

Except that by this time in the cycle you'd hope that they would have looked at the school's website... Possibly even entertained the idea of checking into career services. But then again, with all the other quotes so far I guess I shouldn't assume much

Hey, I give school tours all year. I get questions like 'what classes do 1Ls take?' and 'what is a section?' from admits, even this time of year. It's not all that uncommon.

I don't know its just sort of distressing. As a paralegal the first thing I learned was don't annoy someone with a question if you can find the answer yourself. I get that there are KJDs etc., but something about that level of cluelessness is really facepalm worthy in a world where we have the google machine.

And these are admitted NU students? That makes me want to cry. How does someone make it into a T14 without knowing anything about anything?

I'm usually pretty elitist and judgey, but it doesn't bother me in this case.

Probably because I too kind of accidentally got into a T14 without knowing shit.

Still funny to us on TLS. Especially when these questions are coming from kids admitted to top schools.

I'm not sure because I didn't hear anything said before that. It was just someone's mother leaning over and mumbling it to their father during the law school tour. Made me a little upset.

IS THERE A POOR PEOPLE QUOTA I MISSED?!

Because I'm poor as shit and would love an admissions boost at HYS.

Damn. Shoulda brought my mom to ASW so I'd know these things.

I loved that it was the first question asked. Truly one of the most boomer things I've ever heard.

Curriculum? Employment? Nope. "Life lessons"

I studied my ass off for the LSAT but didn't give a shit about getting a head start on studying for 1L exams or classes.

I imagine some plebs showed up in rubber-soled shoes, and were immediately outed as TTT.

It's too bad you don't know the context, because I am really curious now. I'm just imagining these hobos shuffling around and the mother nodding grimly.

Parents are the worst at ASW. I was very clear with my dad when he came along, and he exercised a lot of restraint. Didn't ask any questions, just sat in the back and soaked shit up. He was kind of shocked at how good the job prospects were from the T-14. He never thought those kinds of options were available to people from middle class backgrounds, so his whole stunned attitude ensured his mouth stayed shut.

There was this one lady there who I felt terrible for though, because her mom was running her mouth about all kinds of stupid shit, from how Fox News was the only credible news channel, to how Tim Pawlenty would make the best presidential candidate, to how her daughter would have to do practically nothing to secure a $200,000 salary, bragging to anyone who would listen about her daughter's accomplishments in getting into law school. And this is all before she got drunk. Her poor daughter just slinked as far down into her seat as she could during dinner. Sitting at that dinner table was more awkward than the Jim & Pam wedding episode of the Office.

Obligatory at this point: the most famous gunner of the HLS ASW asked Dean Martha Minow (!) during the Q&A session what she thought justice was.

I don't even know if I would call him a gunner, I talked to him and he seemed really nice...just a little odd. Maybe he genuinely wanted to know what justice was...?

So a gunner = curious, passionate student?
So... it was you who asked, huh?

Not from a 0L but a tour guide told me on at least three separate occasions something to the effect of "well, like, being a girl alone at night is scary in [pretty nice area of a mid sized city where TONS of students live] so you probably shouldn't live there, or just don't go out at night."

Btdubs, coming from a large city I mean duh, make smart choices. But man she irked me (and scared some other 0Ls lmao).

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
