I'm half-tempted to say flame, but I'm pretty sure OP is real (which is simultaneously frightening and hilarious).

In short: don't go to law school-not for the reasons you've stated and not when you're giving up a stable, lucrative career in a place with universal healthcare and a strong social safety net. But if you do go somewhere like Kansas or Gonzaga, don't say we didn't warn you.

Well, that and I feel that I would be, if I was able to get into any sort of litigation, a more effective than average lawyer because, as an opponent in any kind of contest, I'm a tough fighter and kind of an asshole.

I don't have any particular reverence for the law itself, but I do feel that my ideal profession would be one where one could go about seeking enemies to fight and destroy. I realize that isn't what the mainstream practice of law entails, but it's certainly something that I can entail under some circumstances.

This is a dumb thread, but I think those schools will give you a good chance at international human rights law, which is a strong base for launching into becoming a senator or something similar.

What? No. If you really want to be involved in international human rights, you should at least go to a good law school. Even then your odds are far from guaranteed.

Unless becoming a lawyer is your dream, and has been your dream for a long time, you would be crazy to drop/ alter what you have for law school. In addition, you do not have to go to law school to get into politics. The two don't always go hand in hand.

As long as your career goal is unemployment, depression, self-loathing and crippling non-dischargable debt[FN1], then going to law school would be a great choice.
