Wow... I thought they'd at least get rid of the stips.... GULC sounds even better nownickb285 wrote:Just got a call from the dean at Utah. No scholarship increase, and they won't get rid of the stips. Starting to lean Georgetown, I'm going to see what attorneys here in town say and meet with GULC's career services office.

So earlier in the thread I was singing GULC's LRAP praises, but also not wanting to make a decision, but with your family helping out more and Utah refusing to drop its stips, GULC just became a no brainer to me (barring you visit DC and absolutely loathe it).

I'd pull the trigger on GULC.nickb285 wrote:Just got a call from the dean at Utah. No scholarship increase, and they won't get rid of the stips. Starting to lean Georgetown, I'm going to see what attorneys here in town say and meet with GULC's career services office.

Have fun!nickb285 wrote:That's about what I'm thinking too. I fly out tomorrow, take a tour and meet with career services on Friday. Barring an absolute loathing of the school/people/city, it's probably gonna be GULC.

Just for posterity's sake, what was the actual per year scholarship that GULC offered you off the waitlist?

Re: Georgetown vs. Utah
It's always great to see fellow Utah residents flying the coop. Congrats, man!nickb285 wrote:$20k/year renewable, no stips. I had to ask for it, but all it took was my usual "hey I like your school but I don't like being poor forever" letter and they responded with the offer pretty quickly. I suspect they're worried about retaining their LSAT median so they were willing to buy my 169.BigZuck wrote:Sweet dude, best of luck.
