Schools likely to move into the T14 Forum

One year UCLA was #14, but that has been the only time since USNWR began their rankings that a non T14 school has been in the T14.

And I was wondering, why doesn't Princeton have a law school? I thought it was kind of strange.

Actually Texas has also broken into the T14 several times, so the above assertion is flawed

According to this, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... SlE&gid=45, (which Regulus created, ref'd here: http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... y#p6451511), I'm pretty sure 1987 is the only year when a school not currently in the T14 made it into the T14 (and that's because after 1987 USNWR changed its methodology). But if anyone can point to a year (other than 1987) when UT or UCLA made it into the T14, I'm happy to be wrong.

Ha! I stand corrected too. Although tied for 14 also means none of the schools previously in the T14 dropped out (at least, that I can tell).

Isn't the "T-14" the 14 schools that have been in the top 10 at some point since USNWR established ranking? So a school would need to make the "top 10" in order to really be considered in the same level....although I guess the T-14 is really varied since there's a lot of hate here for schools like GULC.

Regardless of how you interpret Michigans recent employment numbers, this will not happen since USNWR metric is based heavily on the perceptions and qualitative assessments made by boomer judges/partners, along with their outdated pretensions, who came into the market at a time when Michigan was a dominant force in academia and the industry. It will take more than 10 years before our generation of law students have the influence to impact that measurement, unless the serial magazines change their methodology to emphasize strict large firm employment figures over the next few years (unlikely IMO due to internal politics).

How long can Berkeley withstand the worst incoming numbers of T14 and non-top 10 employment prospects? I have no idea what keeps that nuthouse running.
