At least. Haha. Can't wait for it to fail in the first year, tamu to sweep in and buy the parts like they did with Texas Wesleyan, and be the first school in Texas with multiple law school locations a la Cooley.Presidentjlh wrote:No federal loans for the first year?

I support this. If they can't get federal loans they have to keep the price low by default.jenesaislaw wrote:I am consulting this week for a few days with this school. LST is putting a lot of pressure on this school to structure its faculty differently and thus far the school has been receptive to our ideas, which all aim towards keeping the prices VERY low. I've seen early curriculum plans, too, and I am optimistic.
What we do not need are more of the same schools. What we do need is competition from genuinely low-cost, high-quality alternatives that understand a narrowly defined mission. I am certain I will be either its loudest critic or its loudest fan when all is said and done.

Serious question: could students not just borrow private loans to attend?timbs4339 wrote:I support this. The private student loan market is limited and usually requires a co-signer. Although I have heard of some (non-law) schools encouraging students to charge tuition on their credit cards.patrickd139 wrote:Serious question: could students not just borrow private loans to attend?timbs4339 wrote:I support this. Re: UNT Law School set to open in 2014
Came here to study before interview/events this afternoon and evening in Dallas. I am dressed for these occasions. Everyone that I have come across (admin., library, professor–presumably–) has treated me with passive and active annoyance. It's like they have never had a "guest" before. This is a PUBLIC school and I am a TX resident, but using a table in the library to open a book has become the most burdensome task. It's like goddamn Fort Knox here; everything is locked down. Nobody that I have come across has greeted me with a smile or been helpful in any way when prompted.
Seriously, for a school that is not accredited, they should be kissing some serious butt to anyone who walks through their doors to use their bathroom. They have no alumni base in a huge legal market. A fake smile could go a long way.
Inconsequential rant complete.
