Not even close, I would take a full-ride at any school from UCLA/Texas/Vandy/USC down over anything else excpet HYS, and even then, a full-ride at a place like NU would be hard to turn down, even for harvard. Having no debt is an incredible burden off your back.

Are you just asking where the turning point would be or did you actually get additional money from Chicago?

From LST
Northwestern COA - Class of 2015: $284,270
UChi COA - Class of 2015: $258,827
There is a 25k difference right there. Since a good chunk of that is interest which you will have less of, call it a 15k COA difference Making this effectively a question of whether Chicago is worth 30k more than NU like you said.
I'd go with Chicago.

I FELT like at this point I could really go either way and had no rationale. With my gut, it felt Chicago.
Now, you gave me a rational reason.
So, hopefully, I get the formal letter soon and can make a real commitment.
Thanks for the insight guys.

Taking that approach will cause you to change your answer to this question on a yearly basis. I.e see Boalt from a few years back. Pepole are wasting their time making fine gradations in non HYS top 14's unless they're focusing exclusively on V10 NYC placement.Aberzombie1892 wrote:A full ride at NU is a pretty good option to have. Both NU and Chicago feed into Chicago, do decently in NY, and do well in secondary markets. Thus, I would say take the full ride at NU.
This advice would have been different if the lower T14 wasn't NU, Penn, or Berkeley.
