I voted Stanford, but it's really about your aversion to debt. Free law school is certainly tempting, but with a JD from Standford, I think you'd be able to make that back. Plus, your SO's job (if still viable in this situation) would lessen the financial impact. All in all though, you really cant screw this one up. You're good either way.

Thanks, everyone! The forums come through again.
To answer a few questions: my SO (wife, actually) is coming with me and her strong preference is to be in the Bay Area.
I say that I'm "okay" with the firm route, because I would love to do PI, but 1) I recognize that every 0L wants to do PI and few do right away, and 2) my plan is to do Big Law for 5-10 years following school anyway.
