Maybe not the soundest financial decision. But probably what I'd do in this situation.

Out of curiosity, why are you giving up on a career you're pretty happy with for law school? $$?

Partly because I'm looking for a career with more geographic flexibility (the field I'm in is strictly limited to DC, and I don't want to live here forever), and I've also hit an educational ceiling in my current field where I wouldn't be able to move up to other kinds of work I would be interested in without a graduate degree. The $$ potential doesn't hurt either, though.
