Re: Space Law
I would try a competitive FL school with big class sizes (so you know you'll have lots of networking opportunities) like Ave Maria Nova or FIU so you can be close to Kennedy Space Center just in case. Make sure you go to the one with a scholarship that sets realistic and achievable goals in order to keep it (so you will have motivation to work hard). Don't worry about not making top grades. With hard work you can definitely be top 10% + LR no question. Might wanna check out Cooley FL campus (heard its beautiful!)

Re: Space Law
Outside of HYS and a few others, legal employment is mostly regional, so I would say that barring those schools, you should try to go to International Space Station School of Law.

Re: Space Law
I have a friend from law school who is legitimately practicing space law now (government agency).
However, he had worked for a private space company prior to law school and knew quite a few people in the industry beforehand. I don't believe my school even offered a space law class.

I believe that the Alderaan School of Law has been described as the "Yale of the Core Worlds", while Tatooine Law Center is considered the "Cooley of the Outer Rim"...

If US News ranked space law programs, the International Institute of Air and Space Travel at Leiden University would probably be #1.

That dude obviously chose a law school based on its ranking in the subfield of Space Law.PurplePirate wrote:Not to feed a possible troll, but what about this guy? (chief counsel of SpaceX)

Quinn has space litigation in their LA office. They represent the government in satellite and other space-related IP lit I think.

I'm impressed that this actually worked.Grizz wrote:stopafrothunder wrote:kaiser wrote:You are not going into space law. C'mon man. Be realistic.I don't think it's an awful idea. It's an area of law that is going to be more prominent pretty soon and there are probably gaps in existing law that would need to be written. And space has so much to offer. Looking outward can teach us about ourselves at the most basic level. Focusing our satellites inward makes phones and the internet and television work better, which brings the world closer together. It's a good cause and since it could be a corporate gig, I'll get paid ok.
