I'd vote USC. The job prospects are substantially better. A significant percentage of Cardozo is unemployed. A significant percentage of USC makes 30-60k a year. I'd rather be paying off 200k debt with a 50k a year job, and still be able to live like a piper than have no job, and live with my parents at 30. That's my .02.ku1185 wrote:Yeah. Yes. I believe the 2011-2012 tuition is $48,434, up $2,000 from last year. (hah, thx bk187)flexityflex86 wrote:Is USC increasing tuition this year?

Based off the 2009 numbers it seems like around 30% of Cardozo is unemployed/employed part time/employed in a non-legal job. You're right that neither of these options are really pretty. It would be nice if there was some school in the middle ground (e.g. Davis or Hastings at around 100k debt), but alas there is not.flexityflex86 wrote:I'd vote USC. I don't trust those #'s at all or any #'s law schools put out that can be from unrepresentative sample sizes. I'm sure Cooley has a 120k median.bk187 wrote:Based off the 2009 numbers it seems like around 30% of Cardozo is unemployed/employed part time/employed in a non-legal job. This could be debatable.bk187 wrote:whereas the majority of Cardozo grads are getting jobs that allow them to pay back 70k worth of debt fairly easily.

I'm talking about the data that is pulled from USNWR that represents data available for all graduates (and takes into account people who don't respond): http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 1&t=150681flexityflex86 wrote:I don't trust those #'s at all or any #'s law schools put out that can be from unrepresentative sample sizes. Majority? I don't think that's debatable. But I would agree that Cardozo at 70k may be only tenuously better than USC at sticker.Stringer Bell wrote:This could be debatable.bk187 wrote:whereas the majority of Cardozo grads are getting jobs that allow them to pay back 70k worth of debt fairly easily.

I'm too lazy to run the numbers right now, but I doubt living off of 40k in NYC (or whatever the bottom half at Dozo is making) is going to make it very easy to pay back 70k in loans.bk187 wrote: Majority? I don't think that's debatable.

Actually I'll go back and say that you're right that it won't be easy but it will be doable for paying that back in 10 years. The same cannot be said for USC which will be impossible to pay back in 10 years on the salary of the majority.Stringer Bell wrote:I'm too lazy to run the numbers right now, but I doubt living off of 40k in NYC (or whatever the bottom half at Dozo is making) is going to make it very easy to pay back 70k in loans.bk187 wrote: Majority?
