So you think Vandy just won't get me there at all?

you are getting some really shitty advice. go to penn, without reservation, over Vandy when they only gave you a $50k scholarship. The difference is all in the LRAPs:
Penn: http://www.law.upenn.edu/cpp/prospectiv ... llrap.html
Vanderbilt: http://law.vanderbilt.edu/academics/cli ... index.aspx
It isn't close. Go to Penn.
Side note to future readers: you should have applied to Michigan/UVa too since they are both provide better public interest support than Penn, but you might not have been accepted anyway (waitlisted at USC).

Sorry I wasn't more clear. Waitlisted at UVA and Michigan.michigan_man wrote:you are getting some really shitty advice. go to penn, without reservation, over Vandy when they only gave you a $50k scholarship. The difference is all in the LRAPs:

50k isn't worth it to pass up Penn for Vandy.

Just saw that you added the PI/Gov't/env law part. Go to Penn. Vandy's LRAP is awful awful awful. Cap is $50k and at that point they only cover 20%. I'm also considering Vandy, but since I also want to do PI, their LRAP concerns me.

I think you can get there from Vandy, but your class rank might not matter as much if you are at Penn.whitman wrote:So you think Vandy just won't get me there at all?

Just got $30,000 from Cornell. Should that be a consideration?

Cornell should be a consideration. I couldn’t find the information online that they gave us at ASW about their loan assistance for public interest jobs, but you should definitely call and ask. I don’t want to put what I remember them saying up here in case it’s wrong, but if you want to know, then PM me.

It's whatever you want, of course, but it wouldn't be much for me to consider. Cornell is like $25k more expensive than Vandy (tuition only) anyway. That scholarship is basically equalizing tuition between Cornell and Vandy sticker.whitman wrote:Just got $30,000 from Cornell. Should that be a consideration?
