Thanks a ton for all the advice guys! Seems like maybe I'm not making the wrong choice after all. Oh, and for whoever asked, there were no stipulations on the BC $$.

And keep in mind that most law students are not good interviewers.showNprove wrote:You're from Boston, and if you're also a good interviewer, you'll likely be able to get a job in Boston from U.Va. even if you're below median. But Boston is a tough market to crack, and if you're not a good interviewer, you'll probably need to be noticeably above median.

I was in a very similar situation, albeit at slightly lower-ranked schools.
I was between a regional top-30 school for nearly free (interested in staying after school) vs. a more national school at sticker.
I took the regional school and could not be happier with my decision.
Saving $150,000+ is an incredible deal when it comes to law school, especially when there's not a huge rankings gap between your two choices (BC is still a great school).

It's easy to get caught up in t14 talk on this board and the draw of prestige etc., but there are other factors in your case that totally outweigh and go beyond what this board can offer, and BC is a great school.. with no debt, if I was you this would be easy.

Its a shame that people on this forum would even make this out to be a debate. OP would be insane to turn down a completely a full ride from a T30 school in the city he wants to be in for 200K in debt.

What debate? I'm pretty sure I just read 30 posts telling OP to go to BC.dakatz wrote:Its a shame that people on this forum would even make this out to be a debate.
Here's another one: enjoy Boston, guy.

Two of the first three responses make it sound like its not the easiest decision in the world. Plus, the fact that OP would even feel the need to make a thread asking this question shows how the delusions of this forum get in people's heads. So perhaps the real shame is that questions like this even need to be asked in the first place.Bumi wrote:What debate? You mean "arguments could be made either way" guy? Think about who you are talking to here. We all want to be lawyers.dakatz wrote:Two of the first three responses make it sound like its not the easiest decision in the world.

Unless you really want a clerkship, which doesn't seem to be the case, there really isn't much to debate
