Yes, let's base our opinions on the views of undergraduate students as related to us in third or fourth-person on a website.

If by "corporate law," you mean you want to work for a big firm, do not go to Drexel. The overwhelming odds are that you will not get the job you want. Seriously.

The point is that with Villanova, the overwhelming odds are against him as well. The only thing certain in the OP's situation is that choosing Villanova will create more debt, with marginally larger chances of working for a big firm. If the scholarship offers were flipped, I would tell the OP to go to Villanova. I know plenty of GW grads who wanted the biglaw job, graduated in the top half of their class, took on 150k+ in debt, and were sorely disappointed. So really for the OP if he ONLY wants to practice in a big firm, he should go to neither school.

Not that hard..most of the firms are listed on the website, just search through them...listed some below. I'm not trying to say that Drexel does well in bigPhillylaw, but they're out there. I think it's safe to say that if you're in the top 10%, you have a chance (not saying that 10% of the class gets biglaw). The majority of Drexel haters have no clue about the school, except that it's new and lacks alumni...and save the "I have a friend in the top 10 at Drexel and he can't get a job, etc." I don't see why someone would pay that much for Villanova and pass on a full ride at Drexel.arvcondor wrote:Ha, the Drexel discussion continues, with the same stable of cast.
As far as Drexel goes for Biglaw, I'll just say this: http://www.conradobrien.com/Attorney-Bi ... -Voss/259/
Yes, it's probably the douchiest thing I'm posting, given the implications, and I'm sure Mr. Voss is perfectly capable, and I wouldn't be surprised if he turned down some great offers. But I haven't seen a single Drexel biglaw associate so far, and this is where the valedictorian is (I'm sure it's a great firm; no judgments there).

Did you check all the philly biglaw firms? Anyway, that is still better than Widener. A bulk of top students from Widener do bankruptcy law in Wilmington. They're prolly good jobs, since Wilmington is somewhat of a bankruptcy law capitol.phils34 wrote:Not that hard..most of the firms are listed on the website, just search through them...listed some below. Isn't salary all that really matters? I doubt biglaw jobs are interesting, and if they are T14 kids are taking them.arvcondor wrote:Salary-wise, perhaps. Otherwise, does not compute.seriously???? wrote: ...bankruptcy law in Wilmington...

Here are some more I found from firms listed on drexel's site....most are from the class of 2009. I think some 2009ers are still deferred. As for the class of 2010 kids that got biglaw, I think many are clerking first.seriously???? wrote:Did you check all the philly biglaw firms? Anyway, that is still better than Widener. Some of these firms are borderline midlaw/biglaw, but not bad for a new school w/o alumni connections.

All are magna cum laude and summa cum laude ... thats what it takes I suppose top 5%, Villanova may give more room for error (top10-15%) but I suppose choosing drexel is hedging your bet $$$ for one or two awful semesters.
